In view of the nation's problems, President-elect John Dramani Mahama has asked NDC supporters to increase their prayers.

"Spiritual commitment was more important than it was during the campaign," he said.

According to Mr. Mahama, in order to give the party the courage and discernment to enact laws that would raise the standard of living for all Ghanaians, they had to go to God for direction.

We must pray more fervently now than we did during the campaign in order to ask God to give us the courage and discernment to put policies into place that would improve living conditions in Ghana. I will only state that God has already completed it.

Although he was hopeful that God would see them through, he also charged that the departing NPP government was laying a trap for the incoming administration.

"We are in a trap set by the NPP regime. However, we will avoid falling into that trap and will get out of it unharmed. The All-Powerful God who gave us the election will guide us through the challenges we face until we succeed. God will grant us the discernment to govern this nation and improve it for coming generations.
