Ghana's president-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his position that the second chance that Ghanaians have given him will not be like the first.
People who want to work in his administration have been admonished by him to be diligent and humble in their approach, as anything less will not be accepted. The former president claims that since his triumph, he has gotten several calls and texts from people vying for positions in his administration.
But at a Thanksgiving Service held in his honour at the Ringway Assemblies of God Church in Accra Sunday, December 15, 2024, John Mahama cautioned them to prepare for the challenges ahead.
"People who are considering themselves for various positions have been calling, knocking on my door, and texting me. And I simply want to let them know that it won't be easy. "Don't come if you're not ready to labour and serve the people of Ghana in a humble, modest, and hard-working manner. Simply remain in your current location.
His family, close friends, and members of his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), attended the funeral. Mahama acknowledged God's help at every turn and described his political journey as divinely inspired. Along with expressing gratitude for the election victory, he emphasised the work that lies ahead because Ghanaians have great expectations.
The congregation gathered to celebrate Mahama's triumph and ask God to continue to guide his presidency during the Thanksgiving Service, which was full of prayers and hymns.
