Prosper Narteh Ogum, head coach of Asante Kotoko, has expressed his happiness with striker Kwame Opoku's outstanding performance in their triumph over Bibiani GoldStars.
The 2024â25 Ghana Premier League season is under underway, and on Friday night, the Porcupine Warriors hosted GoldStars at Baba Yara Stadium.
Justice Blay opened the scoring in the first half, and Kwame Opoku sealed the victory with an incredible goal in the second half, giving Kotoko a 2-0 victory.
Ogum highlighted Opoku's expertise and preparedness while praising the striker's contribution in his post-match remarks.
After the game, Ogum remarked, "I am not surprised for Kwame Opoku because he has experience, has been here before, and has played in the league before."
He has been working with us every day since he arrived, and he has been eagerly waiting for this chance to come so that the registration may be finished.
"He has been with us for four weeks and has assimilated really well," he continued.
Opoku, who previously played for Asante Kotoko during the 2020â21 season before relocating to Algeria, rejoined the team during the current transfer window.
Asante Kotoko now has 27 points and is ranked second in the league after this victory. Their next league game is scheduled to take place at TNA Park against Medeama SC.
