Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the member of parliament for Akim Swedru for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed disappointment about their loss in the 2024 election.

According to Mr. Nyarko, the election's result is unusual, and the NPP needs to look for explanations.

He stated this on Ekosii Sen of Asempa FM, implying that the NPP shouldn't be against seeking spiritual guidance in its search for solutions.

The lawmaker admitted that, similar to other elections, there was a poor voter participation and disinterest, but that the 2024 episode is unusual.

"This result needs to be investigated because I don't think it's typical. It doesn't seem overly physical to me. Recovering the same trend over all 276 constituencies will be challenging. Campaigning is only one aspect of an election; you also need to pray and take the necessary steps, he stated.

He asserted that none of the contenders could compete with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP, if it were only for campaign purposes.

"He reached out to the people, market women, and engaged the youth—not even President Akufo-Addo had previously undertaken such campaigns." Bawumia campaigned better than even Mahama. Before the election, some of the prophets even mentioned a lot of spiritual aspects," he continued.
