The Volta Region House of Chiefs (VRHC) congratulated John Dramani Mahama, the president-elect, on winning the 2024 presidential election. They said the voting pattern demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the country and the faith that the Ghanaians have in him.
In a statement released on Friday, January 3, 2024, House President Togbe Tepre Hodo IV said: "Your leadership has always been characterized by a profound commitment to unity, inclusivity, and progress for all society."
According to the statement, Mr. Mahama's vision for Ghana inspired the VRHC since it matched the desires of the people for growth, harmony, and prosperity in the Volta Region.
It said that the Volta Region was an important part of Ghana's cultural and economic legacy and that, as Mr. Mahama had explained to the house during his most recent campaign, the region should have a fair share of priorities.
“We want to urge you to consider our sons and daughters in forming your team, and to ensure the region was represented adequately in doing so.
"They are role models for the young people in the area and will definitely help you reach your goals," the statement continued.
It added that the house was eager to cooperate with Mr. Mahama's administration in order to tackle the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead.
The statement read, "We think that with your leadership, we can promote development that meets the needs of our people and guarantees that no community is left behind."
It congratulated Mr. Mahama well in his endeavors, promised him the complete support and goodwill of VRHC during his term, and anticipated seeing the beneficial effects of his leadership in the years to come.
The statement ended with the words, "May your tenure bring about positive change and enduring prosperity for our beloved nation."
