The chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)'s UK chapter, Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, often known as Wofa K, asserted that the Akufo-Addo-led government is abandoning a robust economy.

He maintained that there should be no justification for the upcoming Mahama-led government to return the nation to its past.

Wofa K clarified that the future Mahama-led government will have no justification for failing because the NPP is leaving behind a strong economy with a 7% growth rate.

"The growth rate will decline and the nation will return to the problems and challenges we complained about if Mahama does not build on the growth we have achieved," he stated.

He claimed that Mr. Mahama has a bad history of mishandling the economy, citing the Atta Mills' surge in our GDP from 8% under Kufour to 14%, which then fell to 3.5%.

With the collapse of industry, Mahama ruined all the progress we had made and threw us into a five-year period of dumsor, costing the nation GHC 10.88 billion annually. That was the nation's situation.

He stated that Ghana's economy grew at the quickest rate in the globe in 2017, 2018, and 2019 because the NPP came in with all of us and worked hard. Had it not been for the Covid-19 pandemic, our experience would have been different.

He emphasized that Mahama must fulfill all of his pledges to improve people's living situations in place of what the NPP had done, without any justification.
