Renowned broadcast journalist Nana Aba Anamoah has praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for his recent statement that renal patients would receive free dialysis therapy through the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
On Monday, November 11, she expressed her gratitude for the action on Twitter, calling the decision a huge relief for many Ghanaians who must pay for expensive kidney care.
Dr. Bawumia announced on Sunday, November 10, pledging that the new policy will come into effect on December 1, 2024.

Nana Aba emphasized the initiative's significance in her Twitter post, saying that the policy will lessen the burden on kidney disease patients and their families.
