Gary Nimako Marfo, the director of legal affairs for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stated that the Supreme Court's decision to void the results of four 2024 electoral constituencies did not bring about any meaningful changes.

Mr. Nimako also told NPP supporters that there is no reason for concern while speaking to reporters in court on Friday.

"Not much has changed. Only procedural fairness is guaranteed by the Supreme Court's ruling. On Tuesday, we'll go back to the High Court to carry on the proceedings. For us, this is not a loss. It's just a part of the court system. We are confident the High Court will make the necessary order for collation and declaration,” he said.

The troubled NPP MPs-elect's attorney, Mr. Nimako, is optimistic that the party will win when it goes back to court on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

The court ruled that the High Court should hear these four constituencies again. According to Mr. Nimako, this is so that the NDC can submit their response and the court can issue a new order directing the Electoral Commission (EC) to move forward with the declaration and collation.

Re-collated results for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, Techiman South, and Ablekuma North were revoked by the Supreme Court on Friday.

On Saturday, December 21, 2024, the re-collection was conducted in accordance with a High Court order that instructed the Electoral Commission (EC) to conduct the exercise.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), however, contended that it was not taken into consideration during the proceedings that resulted in that decision.

The High Court was ordered to rehear the case on Tuesday, but with a different judge, after the Apex Court decided in favor of the NDC.
