The National Officers of the NPP are being urged by an increasing number of MPs to include Davis Ansah Opoku (OPK), the MP for Mpraeso, in the Whip team for the 9th Parliament.

The MPs cite OPK's outstanding contributions during the 8th Parliament and extraordinary intelligence as the main justifications for their request.

Within the party's parliamentary group, he is highly respected for his perceptive contributions to parliamentary debates and active participation on caucus platforms.

OPK has continuously inspired and mobilized people and has been described by colleagues as fearless, articulate, and extremely well-organized.

They think that having him on the Whip team would strengthen the NPP's parliamentary leadership and give backbenchers a proactive and trustworthy point of contact.

OPK has proven to have a strong dedication to accountability and a thorough understanding of parliamentary procedures in his role as Deputy Ranking Member of the Public Accounts Committee.

MPs contend that he is well-equipped to lead the NPP caucus, especially during the shift to opposition, thanks to this experience.

Advocates stress that OPK's charismatic leadership and capacity to bring people together will be essential to preserving discipline and unity within the caucus.

Additionally, they see his selection as a move toward giving priority to young, accomplished leaders who can improve the NPP's standing in the 9th Parliament.

This call is part of a larger push for the party to support up-and-coming leaders like OPK in order to stay credible and effective in the years to come.
