Before their crucial Group F 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Angola, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has emphasized their team's great mental focus and voiced trust in them.

Today, Friday, November 15, 2024, the Black Stars will play the Palancas Negras in Luanda.

This match is thought to be crucial for Ghana's chances of qualifying. During the pre-game press conference, Addo stated that it was time for his squad to win their first game in the qualifying series, albeit acknowledging the challenge of the task ahead.

He stated, "We cannot take these games for granted or assume Angola will play at 50%," but he went on to say, "I know they'll give 100%." It will be really close because it is an away game.

However, I believe the lads are psychologically prepared. This game is something we are excited about. We need to win this event for the first time, and I believe it will be a fantastic opportunity to maintain our aspirations of qualifying.

Ghana's aspirations were mathematically maintained on Thursday when Group F opponents Niger crushed Sudan 4-0, giving the Black Stars a modest lift in their odds. Ghana has only two points from four games, placing them third in Group F.

The Black Stars need to win their remaining games while Sudan loses their last match against Angola in order to qualify. In Luanda, Angola, the game is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
