The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ashanti Regional leaders have sent their sincere appreciation to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his insightful advice, which they attribute to their better showing in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

Speaking on January 1, 2025, during the inaugural Awukudea Festival celebration in Manhyia Palace, former Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Kwasi Ofori Agyemang emphasized how crucial Otumfuo's counsel was to their political victory.

Our Regional Chairman, Augustus Nana Akwasi, asked for your advice before to the 2024 elections. You suggested that we make sure the public understands our campaign policies and our actions. We took your suggestion, Otumfuo, and the effects are clear. There are now seven (7) NDC parliamentary seats in the Ashanti Region, up from three (3), and three more are up for grabs. We are certain that those seats will be awarded to us shortly, increasing our total number of seats in the area to ten (10)," he said.

"Otumfuo, we are here to thank you for the invaluable guidance you gave us," he added in another expression of gratitude.

The NDC's dedication to the Ashanti Region's development was reiterated by the former Obuasi MCE, who is apparently being considered for the role of Kumasi Mayor.

Additionally, as President John Dramani Mahama is ready to take office on January 7, 2025, he asked Otumfuo to continue to support him.

Former Obuasi MCE Kwasi Ofori Agyemang, Regional Secretary Dr. Frank Amoakohene, and a number of elected Members of Parliament from the December 7, 2024 elections were part of the NDC delegation, which was headed by Ashanti Regional Chairman Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi.
