Pastors who are discouraging their congregants from voting for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia due to his Muslim faith have been chastised by Rev. Yaw Owusu Ansah of the Multimedia Group.
According to him, the body of Christ faces a serious issue if revered men of God, who are supposed to know better and be religiously tolerant in 2024, think in this way.
His remarks follow a pastor's message in a WhatsApp group inviting other pastors to urge their people to vote against Bawumia on the grounds that a Muslim cannot govern Ghana.
In a WhatsApp group, a well-known pastor posted a poster advising other pastors against supporting a Muslim candidate. This is a man of God who is in charge of a large church, so I was really saddened. That pastor makes me shy. He is prejudiced. We do not discriminate when we proclaim Christ. Do you believe that everyone in that group shares your viewpoint? I have the brochure here.
You cannot negatively affect others in that way. Even if the post has been on the page for a very long period, it would be appropriate for you to remove it," he stated on Adom FM.
