On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, President-elect John Dramani Mahama will be sworn in at Accra's Black Star Square.

The event's seating and security preparations have been made public by the planning committee.

Security and Event Layout

Three zones will be created within Black Star Square:

* Zone 1: Parliamentary Sitting Area – Reserved for invited guests, with access granted only upon presentation of an invitation card.

* Zone 2: Public Stands – Open to the general public, with strict security and safety measures. Large LED screens will be installed for better visibility of the event.

* Zone 3: Media Area – Allocated for accredited journalists, equipped with necessary facilities to facilitate media coverage.

Parking and Traffic Conditions

Certain routes in Accra will be temporarily restricted to enable efficient traffic flow during the event; drivers are encouraged to stay informed by the following updates:

* Road Closures: 28th February Road, Osu Cemetery Traffic Light, Castle Road, and Starlet 91 Road will be closed.

* Diverted Routes: Traffic will be redirected to alternative routes, including Salem Avenue, Oxford Street, and Liberia Road.

* Car Parks: Designated parking areas include the back of the Independence Arch, the Forecourt of the State House, and the Access Bank Car Park.

Global Involvement

Ten heads of state, two vice presidents, a speaker of parliament, two past presidents, and a number of heads of international organizations are scheduled to attend the event.
