On December 20, 2024, PwC Ghana held its inaugural Season of Smiles event, a creative campaign to promote sustainability, raise awareness of climate change, and offer joy to impoverished communities. This staff-led initiative promoted environmental awareness and provided vital supplies to underprivileged kids, embodying the spirit of the holidays.

It supported two remarkable institutions:

• Newlife Children’s Home, which cares for 92 children aged 4 months to 24 years, many of whom face abandonment, abuse, or disabilities.

• Chosen Children’s Home, a haven for 60 children rescued from environments affected by addiction and neglect.

Donations and Activities

To address the unique requirements of the institutions, PwC employees gave money, clothes, toys, food supplies like rice and oil, and building materials. There were happy moments throughout the occasion as PwC employees and kids danced, played games, and enjoyed a celebratory meal.

In order to promote environmental awareness, the event also placed a strong emphasis on sustainability. Children took part in imaginative workshops where they created artwork using recyclable materials.

Participants who were 18 years of age and older also participated in career planning conversations, giving them the tools they need for a better future.

Attending the occasion, Hayfron Aboagye, Human Capital Leader at PwC Ghana, emphasized the value of fostering a sense of community and giving back.

"The PwC Season of Smiles captures the spirit of the holiday season, which is to spread happiness, make a difference, and create enduring memories," he said.

"Watching our staff unite to support these incredible kids and meaningfully advocate for sustainability is amazing."

His speech reaffirmed PwC Ghana's dedication to making a positive social impact by fusing community assistance with the advancement of more inclusive, greener futures.
