Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) deputy director of elections and information technology, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of fabricating their pink sheets for the three contested seats that the Electoral Commission (EC) has ruled in their favor.

Following a recall procedure at the EC office in Accra, the Electoral Commission announced the NPP's victory in the Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and Techiman South parliamentary polls on Sunday, January 5.

Speaking on Monday, January 6 on the Joy News AM Show with Sweety Aboache, Dr. Tanko-Computer expressed disagreement with the recollation exercise's findings.

He said that the NPP had falsified their pink sheets, which were sent to the EC for approval.

"Did you realize that these individuals came up with these figures by manufacturing their own pink sheets? They simply sat at their laptops, created the pink pages, and claimed that these were soft copies. They didn't even have the pink sheets they brought. They are acting in that manner.

Following the recall operation, the NDC received 18,815 votes while the NPP received 18,870 votes in Tema Central.

The NDC received 43,429 votes in Techiman South, compared to 46,663 for the NPP. The NDC received 19,368 votes in Okaikwei Central, while the NPP obtained 21,099 votes.

"These are fabricated figures from the collation centers by the opponents of the NDC," Dr. Tanko-Computer countered. They are the ones who produced, transported, and announced them.

According to him, the NDC has its own numbers that they think accurately represent the outcomes of the polls conducted on December 7.

Additionally, he emphasized that the NDC respects the "legal process" and will not take any potentially harmful acts.

Dr. Tanko-Computer underlined that the legal team of the NDC has a strategy for dealing with the three constituencies that have been ruled in favor of the NPP.

Ablekuma North was suspended because of new difficulties in re-collating results from some of its polling stations, whereas three of the four contested constituencies were re-collated and proclaimed.
