A new High Court judge has been appointed by the Supreme Court to consider the mandamus application pertaining to the contentious 2024 election parliamentary results.

During a hearing on an application submitted by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) about the recollation, the Apex Court issued the ruling on Friday, December 27, 2024.

The High Court judge denied the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidates a fair hearing during their application, according to the five-member panel presided over by Justice Gabriel Pwamang.

"Thereby, the deadline for filing is shortened to two days from today. The High Court's mandamus applicants have the opportunity to reply to the interested parties' procedures," Justice Pwamang continued.

Due to time limits imposed by the national election timetable, the Apex Court has shortened the time for Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

Relatedly, the court invalidated the results of the re-collection that was held on Sunday, December 21 for the constituencies of Tema Central, Ablekuma North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central.

Nsawam Adoagyiri and Ahafo Ano North, on the other hand, were unaffected by the order since it maintained the validity of their results.
