The 94 Majority caucus members who demanded the dismissal of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta have been vindicated by the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) loss in the general elections of 2024, according to Tema Central Member of Parliament Yves Hanson-Nortey.

In the past, the organization has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to fire the Finance Minister, claiming that the country had suffered greatly as a result of economic mismanagement.

Speaking to reporters in Parliament, Hanson-Nortey stated that the NPP's substantial loss of parliamentary seats and its dismal election results demonstrate the legitimacy of their call for a leadership transition.

"This result illustrates the ramifications of disregarding our and many Ghanaians' concerns regarding the economic trajectory under Ofori-Atta's leadership," Hanson-Nortey said.

"I felt that we were not governing well at the time, so I took part in the Ken Must Go [protest]." And I wasn't by myself. We formed a caucus. We were around ninety-four. It was later decided by a caucus.

To put it another way, at least 135 to 137 members of parliament at the time had the same opinions or supported the notion that we were not running the country effectively. And I believe that the results that have been released have validated our position.
