The Electoral Commission (EC) ordered a rerun of the polls at a polling place in the Dome/Kwabenya constituency, but the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has objected.

The party claims that its parliamentary candidate won the constituency based on the analysis it conducted.

On Saturday, December 28, 2024, the EC said that due to the absence of the center's pink sheet, a new election would need to be held at the Abokobi Women's Development Centre 2 polling station.

In a media interview, EC's Director of Training, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, informed reporters that 367 polling stations' results had been successfully compiled by the returning officers in charge of compiling the constituency's results.

One of them was categorically rejected by the commission on the grounds that it was based on an incorrect poll statement because they employed training sheets that weren't appropriate. We chose to come and combine the two and see what happens after the commission rejected one, he said.

However, Rashid Tanko Computer, the NDC's Deputy Director of Elections, said

The NDC's candidate, Elikplim Akurugu, became victorious in the constituency's parliamentary election.

"If we are experiencing issues with one voting station today, that polling station should be removed because there was a 1,154-vote discrepancy. "Your guess is as good as mine when you subtract 689 from 1,154, since that polling station has 689 voters," he said.
