After weeks of waiting, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, the finance minister, finally unveiled the first quarter of the 2025 budget.
On Thursday, January 2, 2025, the departing minister gave a presentation on the small budget.
To keep the government operating until the incoming John Mahama administration delivers its substantive budget for 2025, he presented the House with a budget of 68.1 billion cedis.
Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Andrew Asiamah Amoako, who is in charge of the House, sent the document to the Finance and Budget Committees for a thorough examination.
Before coming back to the House for discussion and approval, the two committees have been instructed to carefully examine the numbers and policy.
It is anticipated that the budget will cover essential infrastructure upkeep, statutory payments, public sector employee salaries, and government social intervention initiatives.
