According to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaign's communications manager, the NPP government lacked the funds necessary to compensate NABCO employees.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye expressed his wish that the government has the money to compensate NABCO employees. "I wished that government had the funds to pay NABCO workers, but it didn't have the money," GHONE TV quotes him as saying.

According to the data collected, some NABCO Trainees have received text messages stating that the government is ready to settle their nine-month arrears in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.

"Dear former CIG trainee, the system is ready for your module," the SMS message said. If you haven't already, please upload your timesheet for December 2021–August 2022 by October 30, 2024.

Additionally, NPP flagbearer and Ghanaian vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was challenged by president-elect John Dramani Mahama to reimburse NABCO trainees for their unpaid allowance arrears throughout the 2024 election campaign.
