Alhaji Mohammed Unus, the Deputy Regional Chief Imam of Ahafo, has urged recently elected Members of Parliament (MPs) to give the region's development top priority in order to raise the standard of living for its citizens.

Alhaji Unus underlined the necessity of immediate developmental projects to close the infrastructural and service gap in Ahafo during a meeting with Imams and MPs-elect in Mehame.

He asked the MPs to carry out their duty by attending to the needs of the people, pointing out that the region has fallen behind in terms of development.

"The locals trusted you to meet their expectations, which is why they chose you. "You have to put in a lot of effort to develop Ahafo and raise everyone's standard of living," he said in an interview with Adom News.

The Deputy Imam was hopeful that the MPs-elect will step up to the plate and guarantee Ahafo's advancement in the upcoming years.
