John Dramani Mahama, the incoming president, has pledged to right the wrongs of the departing Akufo-Addo government.
Additionally, he promised to guide Ghana toward fiscal restraint and openness.
Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to combating corruption and reducing excessive government spending in his 2025 New Year's address.
"We will put in endless effort to address corruption with tenacity, cut back on wasteful government spending, and right the many wrongs committed by the departing administration. Every citizen will have their voice heard, and together we will create the Ghana that we all desire and overwhelmingly voted for—a Ghana that embodies our shared aspirations.
"Let's embrace optimism and hope together. Let's remain unified in our conviction that we can rebuild our economy, reestablish our honor and integrity, and reaffirm our common dedication to creating the Ghana we desire—a Ghana of opportunity, equity, and prosperity for everyone.
According to the incoming president, his administration will encourage inclusivity and responsibility. and promised to help the business community even more.
"I want to reassure entrepreneurs and business owners that my administration will help you in your endeavors to generate money and jobs. We are dedicated to taking down obstacles, streamlining procedures, and giving you the tools you need to start and grow your companies.
