A six-person committee has been assembled by President-elect John Dramani Mahama to handle and supervise national security issues while substantive appointments are being made.
This was said in a statement that the president-elect's special aide, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, issued and signed.
Prosper Douglas Bani, a former interior minister, would serve as the team's leader.
They will take up its duties on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
As the new administration assumes office, the team's job is to make sure that national security activities transition smoothly, the statement said.
The team's members are:
Prosper Douglas Bani – Former Minister for the Interior (Team Leader)
Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.) – Former Chief of Defence Staff
Kofi Totobi Quakyi – Former Minister for National Security
Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, Esq. – Former National Security Coordinator
Brigadier General Fuseinu Iddrissu (Rtd.)
COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.)
