Akyem Asoum's Krontihene has expressed happiness at the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) loss in the general elections of 2024.

There will never be another Akufo-Addo in the nation who will order chiefs to stand and welcome him, according to Nana Boadi Amponim Obo-dade III.

Other chiefs who had doubts about President Akufo-Addo's dismal performance were thrilled by the NPP's victory.

The traditional ruler told the media that he was relieved and thankful for the new administration.

He believed that, with the resources available to him, the departing president could have accomplished much for the nation.

He claimed that individuals in positions of authority had "looted" the nation's resources for the previous eight years.

He said that under the leadership of departing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ghana had been "stripped naked" and that the country's circumstances were bad.

He cited Luke 9 in the Bible, which describes Ghana as a bleeding country that has had its wealth stolen.

He quickly added, though, that the county had been fortunate to have a new leader who would try to recoup the stolen cash and bring prosperity back to the country.

Some of us are relieved that his rule is coming to an end. He added that a close friend of his who is also a chief had once said, "Let's see if he will come around and instruct chiefs to wake up and greet him." He said that many of the chiefs are happy.

We pray that another Akufo-Addo won't be elected president of Ghana because "he (Akufo-Addo) could have done more; he had so much revenue, he had so much he could have done for this country," he continued.
