President Bola Tinubu reassured the populace on Wednesday that he will lead Nigeria to the promised land, despite the complaints of economic hardship brought on by the reforms his administration implemented.
The president claimed to have the self-assurance, skill, willpower, and capacity to make sure he creates a country of which the people can be proud.
He stated that his administration is committed to bringing Nigeria to the Promised Land and is inspired by the National Assembly's backing during the past 19 months.
At his home on Oyinkan Abayomi Drive in Ikoyi, Lagos, the President gave a speech to Vice President Kashim Shettima, the National Assembly's leadership, and previous principal officials.
Members of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) paid a similar visit after Senate President Godswill Akpabio led the New Year homage.
According to Bayo Onanuga, the president's spokesperson, "Nigerians are the heart of everything we are doing." Our purpose is to serve. Your presence on this visit has brightened my day. Cheers to the new year. I pray that God would bless you and our nation and increase its prosperity.
We have set out on a journey of transformation for all of us. It's for our future. It is intended for the next generation. Your dedication will pay off for the unborn children.
We all benefit from your dedication to value addition and fostering a can-do and must-do mindset.
"We have a nation to build. We're competent and confident. We reject the enslavers' wishes for us to be anything other than slaves. We will be there because we are resolute, capable, and driven. During the meeting, President Tinubu declared, "We will accompany you to that Promised Land, Nigeria."
The President acknowledged the parliamentarians' encouragement and promised to put in more effort, embrace intellectual curiosity, and make brave choices for the advancement of the country.
"In Yoruba, we have a saying that only a brave dog will catch the animal in the bush," he continued.
The president of the Senate, Akpabio, reassured the president that the National Assembly is fully behind his government and praised him for his bravery and dedication to reform.
"You are not alone on this path to healing, change, and rebuilding the country. "You have the support and support of the National Assembly," he remarked.
Akpabio emphasized the Tinubu administration's promising economic future, pointing to successes like Nigeria's Eurobond's oversubscription, increased ease of doing business, and rising trust among international investors.
"We applaud your audacious reforms and respect our men in uniform. Because to your leadership, investors are still interested in Nigeria, and we will keep grinning as the advantages become apparent," he continued.
Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, praised the President for his support and regard for the National Assembly.
He claimed that a number of important administration officials, including the president, vice president, president's wife, chief of staff, secretary to the government of the federation, and multiple ministries, had previously served in the National Assembly.
"To God be the glory, Mr. President, the National Assembly is more united today than ever before. The National Assembly should count itself fortunate."
"There is nothing we have ever asked for in the National Assembly that you have not complied with, so the National Assembly is more fulfilled than ever before."
"This is historic." This is admirable. You have our gratitude for it. I also want to express my gratitude for helping the underprivileged.
Nigerians faced greater difficulties in the start of 2023, but as the year came to an end, more food and wealth began to arrive. We think 2025 will be the year that every Nigerian can truly be proud of this government," he stated.
