One of President Nana Akufo-Addo's last acts before he leaves office is to chair a National Honors and Awards event today, December 30.

The purpose of the event is to honor people's extraordinary contributions and selfless commitment to the country.

Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the Chief of Staff, wrote a letter requesting that nominees report to the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) by 11:00 a.m.

In keeping with Ghana's rich cultural legacy and the formal character of the event, the dress code is formal or traditional, with ideas such as suits, kente, or fugu.

The letter also stated that nominees are allowed to bring up to two family members to celebrate this significant event.

The nominees have also received personal invitation cards signed by President Akufo-Addo.

The National Honors and Awards Ceremony emphasizes the value of excellence and national service while providing a forum for recognizing those whose outstanding accomplishments and commitment have had a major influence on Ghana's development.

The Order of the Star and Eagles of Ghana, the Order of the Star of Ghana, the Order of the Volta, the Medal for Gallantry, and the Grand Medal are the five different awards.
