Ruud van Nistelrooy, the manager of Leicester City, has acknowledged the impact Abdul Fatawu Issahaku's injury has had on the squad.
The Ghanaian international will miss the remainder of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola in Luanda due to a knee injury.
The 20-year-old is anticipated to return for the upcoming season after a recent successful surgery.
Although the injury happened before to Van Nistelrooy taking over as manager of Leicester City, the Dutchman admitted that Issahaku's absence had a big influence.
You obviously need some luck. The former Manchester United coach stated, "I think it's important to keep our best players fit."
It was devastating to lose Fatawu to a cruciate injury only a week prior to my start. "This team has suffered a huge loss," he continued.
Issahaku had made six Premier League starts before to his injury, contributing two assists and proving to be a valuable member of the team.
In order to recuperate and carry on with their campaign without the key winger, Leicester City will now get ready to play Manchester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
