President Akufo-Addo has come under fire from the minority in parliament for not updating the Ghanaian people on the status of the National Cathedral Project.

In response to President Akufo-Addo's January 3, 2025, State of the Nation Address, the caucus expressed surprise that Nana Addo left out any mention of the project.

Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, the deputy minority leader, questioned why a man who pledged to construct a cathedral for God did not provide an update on the project.

He claimed that although the president omitted a crucial detail about his pledge to construct him a cathedral, "Mr. President, I will leave that between you and your God."

Additionally, he believed that the 2024 federal elections accurately represented the country's current situation.

He claimed that the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) crushing defeat in the elections confirmed Ghana's severe economic problems and that the outgoing Akufo-Addo's inept leadership had disrupted the country's economy.

In addition to thanking the President for delivering the message, he reminded him that Ghanaians had already rendered a clear decision, one that included economic hardship, despair, high debt, and the conclusion of what is without a doubt the worst government in the Fourth Republic's history.

According to him, the President's book of governance will be viewed as one that deteriorated living circumstances and demonstrated poor leadership.

However, he was quick to add that there is optimism in the form of John Dramani Mahama, the president-elect.

According to him, Ghanaians would band together under President-elect Mahama to rise above this historic low and regain our position as Africa's Black Star.
