Former Ghana assistant coach George Boateng feels that after gaining priceless experience over the previous 12 years, his coaching career has equipped him to take on a managerial post.

The Dutch-Ghanaian coach, who supported Otto Addo throughout Ghana's 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, considered his development and preparedness to manage his own team.

"As a coach, it was incredible for me to be in the World Cup; we qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar," Boateng told Tribal Football.

"That experience was really enjoyable, and it helped me understand why people talk so highly about competitions like the World Cup."

As Otto Addo's deputy during Ghana's World Cup campaign, Boateng characterized his coaching career as a rewarding learning experience.

"After 12 years of coaching, I must say that it has been an amazing learning curve and a wonderful journey full of wonderful moments," he remarked.

The former Aston Villa midfielder feels he is now prepared to lead a squad, even though he has spent a large portion of his career as an assistant.

"In my most recent positions, I have served as an assistant, but I feel like I am a much better coach now. I've grown and learned a lot, and I'm now prepared to lead my own team," he said.

Whether in Europe, the US, or Australia, Boateng is open to taking on a new challenge and is keen to head a team that shares his philosophy of football. "As long as the club shares my philosophy, I don't mind and I'm up for a challenge," he stated.
