Navrongo's Nayagnia suburb witnessed the launch of a community-driven environmental initiative, "Clean Your Community," spearheaded by Bencyn Group CEO, Mr. Benjamin Anyalah.

The project which was launched in January 2025, aims to combat plastic pollution through active community participation.

Mr. Anyalah joined residents, including the elderly, young men, and women, in a thorough clean-up effort, collecting and burning plastic waste.

The initiative highlights the detrimental impact of plastics on the environment and promotes sustainable waste management practices.

Calling for broader support, Mr. Anyalah urged chiefs, assembly members, opinion leaders, and all community stakeholders to join the campaign.

He emphasized the importance of collective action in maintaining a clean and healthy environment for future generations.

According to Mr. Anyalah, “We thank the assembly man who has been so instrumental in making sure the youth come out. Mr. Jacob Komayire who is the youth chaplain of the Catholic Church. We thank them very much for their support…the chiefs , the tindanas, and assembly member come together and initiate it. Nobody will come and clean for us. No government has money to come and say he is going to pick rubbers. These are things we can do it ourselves.

…leadership is not about talking , it is about action. Get involving your community work especially the assembly men who talk so much and yet do little. If you are finding challenges you can reach out to us BcBencyn limited. We will support and take you through how to clean your community like this.”

He also added that he will be calling on the Paramount Chief of the Navrongo Traditional area Pe Dennis Aneaknoa Baunia Adda (Asagipari II) to institute with his authority a day in every month for his subjects clean their environment.

“This is the pick and the number is quite encouraging, the young guys , men and women came out . We hope to converge at the chief palace and sent a message to him telling about the menace of plastics and robbers in the community.

And to fix a day every month that we all come out to pick plastics and robbers”.

The "Clean Your Community" project seeks to foster a culture of environmental responsibility and inspire similar initiatives across the region.
