Ms Fawzia Abagnabah Yakubu officially assumed office as the Upper East Regional Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP) on Wednesday, March 19, 2027, succeeding Madam Georgina Ayamba during a ceremony at the Regional Minister’s office in Bolgatanga.
The transition, was witnessed by the Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri, Mr Abdulai Salifu, the vice chairman of the NDC, Jonathan Abdallah, Cynthia Adda a former zonal coordinator of the program, Miss Belinda, zonal coordinator as well as the driver of the secretariat, Mad Theresa Anamoo, and Felicia Awuni.
In her acceptance speech, Madam Fawzia Abagnabah Yakubu pledged to prioritize meal quality, program transparency, and stakeholder collaboration.
“Today, I officially take over the administration of the GSF program of the UER form Georgina Ayamba.
I am dedicated to working hard to change the narrative of the program in the region and in our quest to resetting Ghana, less nutritious meals in our schools will be a thing of the past.” She emphasized.
Ms Fawzia Abagnabah Yakubu, who is also serving as the regional Womens organizer takes charge amid calls to combat food inflation disruptions and expand reach to remote schools as well as the corruption and rot in the scheme.
Her leadership is expected to bolster Ghana’s efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) in the region.
The ceremony concluded with symbolic handover documents.
