Former President John Dramani Mahama has paid a surprise visit to Zakaria Abdul Samad, a groom who made headlines after leaving his wedding to join Mahama's convoy on the same day.

The heart warming meeting was orchestrated by Beatrice Annan shortly after their wedding, where Mahama congratulated the newlywed couple.

The visit highlighted John Dramani Mahama's appreciation for Samad's loyalty, which had caught the attention of many Ghanaians. Samad, in a remarkable display of loyalty to the former president and the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, left his wedding celebration momentarily to join Mahama's convoy during his campaign tour in the Upper West region.

Lawyer Beatrice Annan played a key role in facilitating the visit where her efforts were acknowledged by Samad and John Dramani Mahama.

In his reaction, Zakaria Abdul Samad said when John Dramani Mahama visited their home, he asked him why he left his wedding to join his campaign tours.

According to him, he was trembling with his broken English, trying to explain his love for John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress.

John Dramani Mahama took the time to personally congratulate Mr and Mrs Samad , wishing them a happy and prosperous marriage.
