Twenty-two former Kayayei, or head potters, have successfully completed a driving training program under the government's NEIP Kayayei Empowerment Programme (KEP). Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia handed over certificates to the newly qualified bus drivers at a graduation ceremony in Accra.
The Vice President congratulated the graduates, encouraging them to excel in their new roles as professional drivers. He highlighted the significance of their achievements, noting that it demonstrates the power of empowerment programs to transform lives .
The NEIP Kayayei Empowerment Programme aims to empower 5,000 Kayayei across the country with technical and vocational education and training (TVET). The program also offers modules in fashion designing, soap making, beads making, and more .
