Dakoa Newman, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei South and Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, has launched an aggressive campaign to secure her seat and promote Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Her "submarine campaign" aims to urge voters to support Bawumia in the December 7, 2024, elections.

Newman's campaign activities include a massive walk-in event attended by a large number of party members, followed by a final rally featuring performances by various artists. In her message, Newman emphasized the need to continue and complete ongoing road projects and development initiatives in the constituency.

She also highlighted Bawumia's bold solutions to Ghana's development challenges, including transforming the economy, improving healthcare and education, and providing opportunities for young people. Newman emphasized the importance of continuity and stability in government, citing the NPP's impressive record of development and progress over the past eight years.
