Denis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson for the Bawumia Campaign, has strongly criticized Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, calling him "the worst speaker of parliament we've ever had" . This statement was made in response to the contentious dispute in Parliament over four vacant seats, which Aboagye believes could have been resolved peacefully if not for Bagbin's leadership inefficiencies.

The dispute revolves around Bagbin's ruling on the status of the four contested parliamentary seats, which has sparked unrest in the House. Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin opposed the ruling and filed an appeal to the Supreme Court. In a significant development, the Court intervened, directing Bagbin to stay the execution of his ruling on the vacant seats.

Aboagye argued that Bagbin's leadership has worsened the situation, suggesting that a more competent speaker could have avoided the current deadlock. He emphasized that restoring the seating arrangement would bring order back to the House. Afenyo-Markin shared similar sentiments, accusing Bagbin of presiding over disorder in Parliament.

Aboagye defended the NPP MPs' decision to abstain from a recent session, citing intelligence reports warning of potential violence. He urged Bagbin to comply with the Supreme Court's directive, highlighting the importance of stable leadership for smooth government operations.

In his words, "What this country needs, like President Kufuor said yesterday, is a speaker that would realise that we have a very small matter that requires leadership to deal with the matter." This statement echoes former President John Agyekum Kufuor's call for strong, responsible leadership in Parliament.
