Michael Donyina Mensah, Executive Director of the Centre for Public Opinion and Awareness (CenPOA), has made some strong statements about Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. According to Mensah, Bawumia is the worst-performing presidential candidate in the history of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mensah believes that Bawumia's poor performance is a sign of deeper issues within the NPP.

Mensah also thinks that Bawumia's chances of becoming the NPP's presidential candidate again depend on those outside of President Akufo-Addo's inner circle. If these individuals can come together and unite, Mensah believes it will be tough for Bawumia to be re-elected.

Furthermore, Mensah advised the NPP to investigate their defeat and identify the root causes. He suggested that President Akufo-Addo's leadership style and governance may have contributed to the party's loss. Mensah was also critical of Akufo-Addo's performance, calling him a "failed president" who couldn't deliver on his promises, particularly on corruption and the economy.
