Dr George Amoah, a renowned political analyst, has expressed skepticism about the impact of former President John Mahama's recent visit to the Ashanti Region.

According to Dr Amoah, Mahama's visit to the region was a "desperate" attempt to win votes, coming as it did at the tail end of the election campaign.

Dr Amoah questioned the strategic value of Mahama's visit, suggesting that it was more of a symbolic gesture than a calculated move to win over voters in the region.

The Ashanti Region has traditionally been a stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), and Dr Amoah believes that Mahama's chances of making significant gains in the region are slim.

Dr Amoah advised Mahama to focus on mobilizing support in swing regions and constituencies where he has a better chance of winning, rather than wasting time and resources on a region that is unlikely to yield significant returns.

Ultimately, Dr Amoah believes that the outcome of the election will depend on which candidate can effectively communicate their vision for the country and gain the trust of the electorate.
