Dr. Samuel Sarpong, the 1st Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has paid a courtesy call to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.
During the visit, Dr. Sarpong expressed the gratitude of John Mahama, the NDC flag-bearer, to the Asantehene for his guidance and blessings. He noted that the Asantehene's wise counsel and blessings contributed significantly to the NDC's electoral victory.
The visit was part of the Akwasidae ceremony, a traditional celebration of the Ashanti kingdom. Dr. Sarpong was accompanied by other high-ranking officials of the NDC, including Andy Okrah, a former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, and Kwasi Ofori Agyemang Boadi, a former MCE for Obuasi.
Dr. Sarpong praised the Asantehene for his leadership and wisdom, saying that his guidance and blessings were instrumental in the NDC's success. He also assured the Asantehene that the NDC would continue to seek his counsel and guidance in the future.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, received the delegation warmly and thanked them for their visit. He also offered words of wisdom and advice, urging the NDC to govern with compassion and care for the welfare of all Ghanaians.
