Election Watch Ghana is warning the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) against setting up an unauthorized Data Compilation Center. They claim this move is illegal and goes against the regulations guiding public elections in Ghana .
The group insists that by law, ballots can only be collated and counted at polling centers and constituency collation centers.
Introducing a Data Compilation Center could lead to chaos and undermine the integrity of the electoral process. Election Watch Ghana is urging the EC to adhere to the law and respect the democratic process. With Ghana's general elections scheduled for December 7, 2024, the group's warning is timely and highlights the need for transparency and accountability in the electoral process .
