A former Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Samuel Dubik Mahama, recently sponsored a massive motorcade involving hundreds of Okada riders to celebrate the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy introduced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This event coincided with the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) final rally.
Mahama praised the Free SHS policy, describing it as a groundbreaking initiative that has transformed Ghana's educational landscape. He emphasized that this policy has positively impacted many families, including his own.
Interestingly, the Okada riders have been a topic of discussion in Ghanaian politics, with the NDC contesting claims by the NPP that many Okada riders are not Ghanaians . The NDC maintains that Okada riders are Ghanaians with the same rights as anyone conducting lawful business in the country.
