Four parliamentary seats have been formally declared vacant by Speaker of the House Alban Sumana Bagbin. Peter Yaw Kwakye Ackah of Amenfi Central (NDC), Andrew Amoakoh Asiama of Fomena, Kojo Asante of Suhum (NPP), and Cynthia Morrison of Agona West (NPP) are the MPs affected by the judgment. This comes after NDC MP Haruna Iddrisu filed a formal petition with the Speaker.

Following extensive discussions and debates between the Majority and Minority sides of Parliament concerning the petition submitted by Haruna Iddrisu, the former NDC Minority Leader, the declaration was made.
