Honourable Gifty Klenam has formally broken her silence regarding her intention to leave the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and join the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Speaking to the press, she stated that after much thought and conversation with her family, she realized that the NDC's vision better reflects her present values and hopes for Ghana.

Klenam expressed her gratitude to the NPP for the opportunity to serve as a two-term Member of Parliament and briefly as CEO in President Nana Akufo-Addo's government, and explained why she felt compelled to transfer parties.

"After careful consideration of all aspects, I am convinced that the National Democratic Congress is the greatest route to create the Ghana that we all want. After much thought and conversation with my family, I decided that the NDC better reflects my current ideals and vision for mother Ghana."

She highlighted that it is time for Ghanaians who genuinely love their country to be courageous and take decisive action for the country's growth. With this perspective, she joins the NDC with a newfound sense of passion, experience, and drive to help the party expand and advance nationally.

Honourable Gifty Klenam expressed gratitude to the NDC for welcoming her with open arms. She disclosed that she had already made steps to become more involved in the party, beginning with obtaining a good governance card and providing political support during the last elections.

"I aim to quickly contact the NDC grassroots, listen to their issues, and offer my aid. "My personal office is open to all NDC supporters, youth, and like-minded Ghanaians who want the best for our country," she stated.

Klenam revealed in an emotional moment that her late father had always wanted her to join the NDC. "I know my father is smiling down at me today. It was his desire that one day I would join the NDC, his favorite party. May he continue to rest in peace," she added.

She concluded her speech with appreciation, thanking God, Ghana, and the NDC, and pledged her unshakeable dedication to her new political home.
