Former President John Dramani Mahama is sounding the alarm on Ghana's growing unemployment crisis, despite the government's claims of creating jobs. He's criticizing the current administration for not addressing the pressing issue of youth unemployment, which is widespread across the nation .
Mahama's concerned about what he calls "jobless growth," citing increasing poverty, inequality, and a rising cost of living. He believes the NPP government has failed to tackle these issues, leading to high unemployment, low wages, and growing inequality.
As part of his solution, Mahama proposes implementing a 24-hour economy and introducing apprenticeship programs to provide more opportunities for young Ghanaians. He also plans to reform economic policies and address the structural issues that have led to high levels of youth unemployment.
Mahama's statement is part of his ongoing campaign to return to the presidency, where he promises to revitalize the Ghanaian economy and give the nation's youth the tools and opportunities to thrive in the workforce.
