Kwame A Plus, the MP-elect for Gomoa Central, has been pretty vocal about his issues with President Nana Akufo-Addo. In a recent interview on TV3's Ghana Decides, A Plus called out the president for being opportunistic and self-centered .

Apparently, the rift between them started after Akufo-Addo's 2016 election win. A Plus and other loyal supporters began to distance themselves from the administration due to some of the president's appointees behaving badly. When they tried to address these issues with Akufo-Addo, he basically ignored them.

A Plus also shared that the only reason Akufo-Addo reached out to him after their fallout was because of the 2020 elections. Even then, it was NPP MP Kennedy Agyapong who facilitated the phone call between them. Akufo-Addo also called A Plus two weeks before the 2022 elections, seeking support, but never followed up after that.
