According to GhanaWeb, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the outgoing Member of Parliament for Suame, has listed important grounds of conflict with Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin during Ghana's 8th Parliamentary term.

Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader, remarked on the obstacles encountered during the administration of the 8th Parliament, stressing areas where he disagreed with the Speaker's judgments.

These differences reportedly strained relations between the parliamentary leadership and the Speaker's office.

The Suame MP has expressed his reservations about the dynamics of parliamentary procedures under Bagbin's leadership.

His statements come as the 8th Parliament prepares to adjourn, with the final sitting and dissolution set for today.

As Ghana enters its ninth Parliament, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu's views highlight the shifting character of the country's legislative procedures and the impact of leadership decisions on parliamentary operations.

The leaving MP also commented on former President John Dramani Mahama's support for Bagbin as Speaker of the 9th Parliament.

He deemed the public nomination inappropriate, adding that such endorsements should be kept internal to protect the integrity of the parliamentary process.

The 8th Parliament was highlighted by significant events and controversies, such as discussions about parliamentary processes, party alignments, and government tactics.

These developments have spurred debate regarding the role of leadership in promoting unity and achieving legislative objectives.

As Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu prepares to leave Parliament, his remarks shed light on the complexity of legislative leadership and the value of effective collaboration between the Speaker and members of Parliament.
