Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has denied allegations that she caused the arrest of an elderly person. In a recent interview, she expressed her surprise at the accusations, questioning why she would arrest someone close to their pension age .

Alhassan emphasized her commitment to freedom of speech and association, stating that she preaches peace and calm during the election period. She also mentioned that she wasn't present during the alleged incident and is yet to find out more about it .

It's worth noting that Alhassan has faced similar allegations in the past, including claims that she caused the arrest of a University of Ghana security officer . However, she has consistently denied these allegations, emphasizing her commitment to upholding the rights and freedoms of all individuals.
