The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is still basking in the glory of its overwhelming victory in the 2024 Ghanaian elections. According to Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, the Director of Legal Affairs for the NDC, the party was confident about its chances, but the margin of victory was a pleasant surprise.

In an interview, Tamakloe attributed the NDC's success to divine intervention, saying "With this kind of victory, it is the doing of the Lord... We were confident but with this over 1.6 million margin in the presidential election and 187 parliamentary seats, this can only be God."

The NDC's presidential candidate, John Mahama, secured 6,328,397 votes (56.55%), while his main contender, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), got 4,657,304 votes (41.61%). The NDC also won 187 parliamentary seats.

Tamakloe emphasized that the NDC recognizes the enormous responsibility that comes with its victory and will work hard to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.
