NPP's Miracles Aboagye regrets not stopping the National Cathedral project despite public opposition.
It appears that the NPP is indeed having regrets about the National Cathedral project. Dennis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson for the NPP's presidential candidate, has acknowledged that the government should have halted the project due to the significant public backlash. He believes this backlash contributed to the party's defeat in the 2024 general election .
Aboagye also emphasized the importance of effective communication in similar future initiatives, criticizing the handling of the project. He stated that the NPP allowed detractors to dominate the conversation, which ultimately hurt the party's reputation.
It's worth noting that the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has also called for an investigation into the Board of Trustees overseeing the National Cathedral project, citing violations of the Procurement Act and the need to ensure value for money.
