Peter Kwakye-Ackah, the NDC Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, has dropped out of the December 7, 2024, parliamentary election. After losing the NDC primaries to Joana Gyan Cudjoe, he initially decided to run as an independent candidate but changed his mind .

Kwakye-Ackah cited the High Court's decision to rescind an injunction against Gyan Cudjoe as the reason for his withdrawal. He believes his reasons for running independently are no longer valid, given the court's ruling .

He's a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, representing the Amenfi Central Constituency in the Western Region . Born on June 15, 1957, Kwakye-Ackah holds an MBA in Marine Engineering from Leicester University, UK .

*Reasons for Withdrawal:*
Kwakye-Ackah explicitly stated that his decision to withdraw is due to the High Court's ruling, which cleared the way for Gyan Cudjoe to contest the election . He also endorsed Gyan Cudjoe, the NDC's parliamentary candidate, after withdrawing from the race .
