The Atafoa bridge in Kumasi has been a major concern for commuters, especially during the rainy season. The good news is that the government has reconstructed the bridge, and President Akufo-Addo commissioned it on November 26. This new 40-metre reinforced concrete bridge is expected to bring a huge relief to residents and commuters who have been struggling with accessibility issues.

The reconstruction of the bridge is a significant intervention that represents safety, accessibility, and opportunity. It's worth noting that between 2022 and 2023, ten people lost their lives attempting to cross the flooded bridge. The new bridge will not only prevent such tragedies but also provide a vital link between Kumasi, Offinso, and the northern part of the country.

As Nana Kwabena Bonsu, Otumfuo Suaduhene, pointed out, living around the area has been a struggle due to accessibility issues, especially during the rainy season. The completion of the project has brought a huge relief to the community.
